WiNN’s own Purnima Barman and her Hargila Army of amazing women are working hard to protect the Endangered Greater Adjutant Strork in Assam India. It’s hard work standing up for a bird that most of the local villagers view as a pest, but Purnima and her Army have changed local attitudes and created a community of caring for the birds and for the people. Their inspiring story was recently published in Audubon magazine, which you can read here.
This WiNNsday event will feature a short presentation from Purnima on her work, an interactive Q&A session with Purnima and her Army, and time to chat with your WiNN sisters.
