Join WiNN Founding members, Leeanne Alonso and Jessica Deichmann, and a panel of experienced researchers from around the globe to discuss skills that we, as women, possess that are especially beneficial for conservation. A few come to mind - a willingness to listen, empathy, making connections and collaborations, and being smart! Join us for breakout groups and lively discussion about skills that we should cherish and promote within ourselves!

Attached is a paper that explores general skills for conservation.  We'll go further to put a gender lens on what we feel are essential skills that women have to offer.

The Story Telling as a tool for the strengthening of local network, in rural communities. Rural communities, close to the National Parks, are often “far away” from all kinds of resources. Approaching them with strategies of recognising their own strengths, based in their own culture, stories, and mores; is a wonderful way of working with each community, based in their own genuine culture, for future “new ways” that will improve the community standard of life.
