WiNN Tanzania brings together women working and aspiring to work in nature conservation across Tanzania. We provide a platform for women to connect, share knowledge and experience, build their skills, and support one another in their conservation journeys.
Our work focuses on mentorship and capacity building, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, conservation education and awareness, and community engagement. We are particularly committed to creating opportunities for young and early-career conservationists to gain practical experience and learn alongside experienced women in the field.
Through field-based activities, training, networking, and collaborative conservation initiatives, WiNN Tanzania connects women from different backgrounds and career stages and encourages greater participation and leadership of women in conservation.
Our recent activities have included field training and mentorship for young conservationists, biodiversity and ecosystem work at Lake Eyasi, mangrove restoration, coastal and marine conservation activities, and community-based conservation initiatives. These activities combine practical conservation with opportunities for women and young conservationists to learn, contribute, and grow professionally.
As the network continues to grow, our aim is to strengthen connections among women in conservation across Tanzania and create more opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, professional development, and meaningful participation in protecting Tanzania’s biodiversity and ecosystems.
