WINNsDay Webinar: "Collaborative Conservation in Action: Protecting the Union Island Gecko

In our February’s WiNNsDay Webinar, conservation biologist Isabel M. Vique Bosquet FRGS shared the powerful story of the conservation of the Union Island gecko, a critically endangered species found only on Union Island in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. 🌎

Discovered as recently as 2005, the tiny, strikingly colorful gecko became a target for the international pet trade. By 2015, the species was being sold online across Europe, the United States, and Japan, despite the fact that none had been legally exported from the island.
