WiNN COLORADO
The Colorado Women in Nature Network chapter believes connection is essential to sustaining women who work for and alongside nature. They want to create a welcoming community where women across Colorado’s conservation and environmental sectors can build meaningful relationships, learn from one another, and find the support and sense of belonging that helps us grow, lead, and stay connected to this work.
Our primary goals are: 1) Create opportunities for women to gather, convene and connect; 2) Create opportunities for learning and the exchange of ideas, resources and support; 3) Create a network that is reflective of the diversity and leadership of all of Colorado's regions, cultures and extraordinary work led by women on behalf of biodiversity and people.
WiNN COLORADO MEMBER SPOTLIGHT:
Co-Founders Molly Maloy and McCrystie Adams
Molly Maloy is a conservation capacity and leadership professional who has spent more than 20 years working at the intersection of people, wildlife, and conservation. Her work focuses on strengthening conservation leaders and organizations through career pathways, mentorship, capacity strengthening, practitioner well being, and more inclusive approaches to conservation. Molly has worked across zoo-based and international conservation, graduate education, women’s conservation leadership, adaptive management, and organizational effectiveness. She is especially passionate about creating the relationships, networks, and sense of belonging that help people thrive in conservation and believes that investing in the people doing this work is essential to sustaining both the profession and the impact we hope to have for nature.
McCrystie Adams is a conservation lawyer who spent more than two decades leading successful litigation, legal advocacy, legislative advocacy and coalition-based campaigns at Earthjustice and Defenders of Wildlife. She worked to protect and restore rivers, imperiled wildlife, and public lands throughout the United States. While at Defenders of Wildlife, McCrystie led the legal team as Vice President of Conservation Law and founded and scaled Defenders' Biodiversity Law Center, charged with working at the intersection of science and the law to develop and implement proactive litigation and legal advocacy campaigns. She is currently helping launch a nonprofit organization, She Saves Nature, whose mission is to amplify and empower women who are driving environmental change. She is also serving as a mentor in CoalitionWild's Global Mentorship program.
