Arya Sidharthan is a molecular ecologist studying mountain-dwelling fishes of peninsular India. Through understanding their phylogenetics and biogeography, she aims to unravel the evolutionary history of the Western Ghats mountain ranges, and clear some long-standing hypotheses on the distribution of enigmatic freshwater fish groups on the Indian subcontinent.
